The Canadian Museum of Nature (CMN) is Canada's national natural history museum. Through active research, the preservation of scientific collections, national educational projects, public and school education programmes, travelling exhibitions, a dynamic Web site (nature.ca), and permanent galleries at the Victoria Memorial Museum Building, the CMN promotes knowledge of and respect for the natural world. In 2004, the CMN embarked upon a comprehensive Renewal of the Victoria Memorial Museum Building, and in 2006, reopened the newly renovated galleries in its West Wing. Renovations to its East Wing and central core will be completed by 2009-10.
